Letter to Shri sankaran

Letter to Shri sankaran

calcutta

Dear Shri Sankaran,

Received your two circular-letters dated 13-8-63 and a copy of the Memorandum of Association and the Rules and Regulation of the Committee on the 16th of August, as expected.  You also must have received my letter dated 15-8-63 in due time.

This morning, the circular-letters addressed to Swami Tripuranandaji, Syt. Kalidas Naag and Syt. Kalidas Bose reached the office of the Provincial Committee situated at 76/2 Cornwallis Street Flat No.X-12.  It appears that you do not have in your central Office records the proper residential addresses of the members of the All India Committee.  That is what I have inferred from your being required to dispatch letters to all the above-mentioned persons at the official address of the Committee and not at the respective individual addresses of the addressees.

My humble suggestion in this regard is that while these circular-letters should be sent to the members at their individual addresses, separate circular-letters should be sent to all the State Committee Offices, and even to the offices of smaller units wherever useful and necessary.  We should also send such periodical reports and circular-letters to other helpful social workers and agencies in different States for their information and guidance.  One more suggestion about the same is that
every circular-letter should carry the date of its issue and should also carry a line designating those for whom the communication was meant; for example ‘For the members of the Managing Committee’, ‘For the members of All India Committee’, for all the Provincial Units of the Committee, ‘For all the district units of the State Committees’ etc.

For your information I am giving below the address of the All India Committee members residing in Calcutta.

(1)Swami Tripuranandaji, Vivekananda Mission, I-Chitpore Bridge Approach, Calcutta – 3.

(2)Dr. Kalidas Naag, P-26, Raja Dasanta Roy Road, Calcutta – 26.

(3)Shri Kalidas Basu, 5-A Sukea Street, Calcutta – 9.

Shri Kalidas Basu, the Secretary of the State Committee, in receipt of your circular-letter and the letter addressed to Swami Tripuranandaji would be delivered to him in person by Shri Kalidas Basu tomorrow. It would be better, however, if you post another letter to Dr. Kalidas Naag at his residential address given above.  He would, of course, be contacted by somebody from amongst us within this week.

I request you to check up the list of members of the All India Committee and in case the proper addresses of any members are not in our record, to secure them by writing to proper quarters.  Even otherwise, also the Register of Members which the Committee is required to maintain as per article I of the Rules and Regulations should contain the names and full addresses of its members.  Please convey my Respectful Pranams to all elders. Also convey my Saprema Namaskars to Dattaji and other friends.

Yours
Eknath
